Whistly is a location-based community signal platform operated by Soft Signal Canada ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to it. By using Whistly you agree to this policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party, ever.

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you deactivate your account, your profile is hidden from other users but your data is retained for up to 90 days before being scheduled for deletion, to allow for account recovery.

If you request permanent deletion (see Section 6), we will delete your data within 30 days.

You have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal information. Specifically:

7. Children's Privacy

Whistly is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@whistly.ca and we will promptly delete it.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) content. If we discover or receive a credible report of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on our platform, we will immediately remove the content, permanently terminate the offending account, and report to the Canadian Centre for Child Protection via cybertip.ca and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by applicable law. We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations involving child safety.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including Firebase Authentication, Firestore security rules with role-based access controls, encrypted data transmission (TLS), and restricted API key access. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will notify users within the app. Continued use of Whistly after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
